All the Radiohead News that's fit to rip off and re-publish.

A new record label, named Polyphonic, created by Radiohead manager Brian Message and other partners will help artists launch their music digitally, without having to release copyright on their work. [cbc] Vancouver-based Nettwerk Management is a partner. [cbc]

There were rumours that a new EP, called Wall of Ice was coming out in August. [stereogum]

And that the band was no longer interested in albums, just singles. [nyt]

And Sasha Frere-Jones talked with Jonny Greenwood for her Dithering series in the New Yorker, asking if the quality of mp3s was a satisfactory medium for music. Jonny replied, "They sound fine to me. ... We had a few complaints that the MP3s of our last record wasn’t encoded at a high enough rate. Some even suggested we should have used FLACs, but if you even know what one of those is, and have strong opinions on them, you’re already lost to the world of high fidelity and have probably spent far too much money on your speaker-stands."
